I think patriotism and nationalism should be avoided as much as religion and prayer.

for what it's worth i feel your pain. every season. but at least it's vaguely Ajacoid with Frank in charge... Ajax hasn't been, and will never be, the same since Bosman though. but the memories are grand if you forget about Davids taking penalties.

I'm afraid I'm stuck with memories of Bergkamp, Van Basten, and . . . To be perfectly honest I have no idea about what's going on with Ajax nowadays. Being in Thailand is a valid excuse for that. I definitely didn't stay for the football! . . .

these days the football here's improving. Bergkamp and van Basten are a bit before my time (but only a bit) you old fart.

as for not knowing what's going on with Ajax these days... it's probably for the best to pretend that football ended in about 1996. wish i'd seen the future and done that :P

The only time I went to a football match was when Ajax played against Juventus in the Arena, and lost. Was that in '96? . . .

'96 was the champs' league final vs. Juve can't remember where that was as i only made it as far as the semifinal vs Panathinaikos, before i had to return to New York in order to keep the paychecks coming, but i the Arena was built after that, as the Ajax-Panathinaikos semifinal was in Olympic.

Initially went to Thailand on a study abroad program with my uni. It was alot cheaper than Finland (another option), and I heard great things about the cheap whores. I was hooked...
