i totally relate to everything everyone is saying here. including bubba, and pb. they have a very strong point to make. i am sensitive to the extreme about violence or emotionally violent attitudes toward women and children for personal reasons. it's not a distant cause i decided to sympathize with. speaking for myself, there were no covert or overt expressions of hatred toward women, but to ignoramii who set themselves up as the next generation of truth dispensers, when they are so clearly not endowed, it has nothing to do with gender. a lot of pleasurable outrage though.
now, from my first post i felt the distinct pleasure of being a cutting, mean asshole, and letting some of the negative, harsh, evil shit i feel inside out for a bit. but not a bit of my bile was directed toward her femaleness, or any sort of unconscious hatred i have toward women. i don't have any. and it's a bit obnoxious to accuse me of that, and likely a few others participating.
but i did choose to be evil and dogpile this almost despicable fallen person, and for all logical purposes, as has been abundantly stated, it's near impossible to sympathize with this writer, so let's have a go at her, nobody will mind!
to make matters worse, i only really felt bad when cluz announced that he invited her to read the thread. so that could mean i'm actually an asshole if i can get away with it, and i'm only nice coz i've learned to be. so what does that say about everyone else.
so what i'm thinking now, is that the braying pack, of which i enthusiastically participate in, and the righteous ones, who we won't know are that good or that bad until put to the test, and the object of our attention, someone who really doesn't deserve the attention so shame on us, are all a bunch of assholes.
so it's back to square one, unless bubba can take it further.
i do appreciate the stance you take bubba, and as you learn to deliver it more effectively, well, that's the kind of change i'd like to see in people. it shouldn't mean we have to suffer idiots and hand out daisies. but it doesn't mean we should be a bunch of low cunts.

I beg to differ. She's written this for a local rag at probably 10 cents a word if she isn't a staff writer. While no one in Thailand would do anything but laugh at her poorly written piece, locals in Dunkirk (pop: ca.12k) will probably get a rise out of the exploitation in poor impoverished dangerous Thailand so far away, and feel smug that their way of life has been confirmed as superior. The women will probably also feel a bit better about themselves because they're not whores (this, after all, is why prostitution is so vilified in societies ranging from Confucian to Christian to Muslim), and the men will feel a bit more righteous for being married and for the most part faithful, although a part of them will maybe indulge in a brief fantasy of a night with a brown-skinned petite beauty.
From the perspective of customer satisfaction, I'd say the piece is probably pretty successful. From any other less cynical perspective, it's shit and Sarah's an idiot.
