I'm going to a lecture with q&a session in about an hour and a half here, where feminist/erotica author Erica Jong et al. will be discussion 50 Shades of Grey's success and how it relates to American sexual mores. I want to ask a question about her attitude towards prostitution and why so many feminists seem to be opposed to it, but I'm not quite sure what question to ask.
Any suggestions?
And sorry for the short notice, but I am leaving in an hour, so I need responses by then.
That sounds sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo boring!
Bloody feminist carpet munchers. Make me sick (except the hot ones of course).
The question for me would be why ?
In the 70's Germain Greer posed for a whacked out surrealistic photograph for the famous photographer Man Ray that had Germain spreading her lets with litres of what appeared to be semen running out of her vagina.
This photograph was published in a book of Man Rays photographs
This is true and certainly asks a few questions on a whole heap of levels that have never been answered

Q: How many men does it take to open a beer?
A: None. It should be open when she brings it to you.
Q: How many men does it take to fix a woman's watch?
A: Why does she need a watch? There's a clock on the oven!
Q: Why do women get married in white?
A: So they match the appliances!
Cut and paste job but who cares. I especially like the 3rd one.
Let's see how well I remember...
Erica in particular was going on about how poorly written the book is--I haven't read it, but judging by the excerpt that was read last night, it definitely is. Another panel member was talking about how sexist/violent/dangerous the book was.
"What concerns me is that there may be a tyranny of taste from the left replacing a tyranny of morality from the right. There is so much talk about how people should have sex and talk about sex--but obviously the book is speaking to a lot of people. Why can't we just let let them enjoy what they enjoy?"
Erica didn't respond to me--another panel member did, but her response was frankly so vapid that I don't remember a word of it. Several audience members spoke, and they were frankly more interesting than most of the panel. I also was amused that the panel members who were most upset about the book were women--and the ones who were studying it more objectively as a cultural phenomenon were men.
There are few problems in life that cannot be solved with toast.
One of them, however, is opening a can of corned beef with that stupid key. This cannot easily be done at the best of times, and toast is of surprisingly little use in resolving the issue.
