Bit of fun for a Friday ...

Another one of those BMI calculators* - with a twist as it tells you which country you are most typical of.

Then to add insult to injury the comment below appeared

If everyone in the world had the same BMI as you, it would add 106,423,263 tonnes tothe total weight of the world's population

    24bmi
    BMI is an
    estimate
of how "overweight" or "obese" a person is

    National
    Below average

^ i think that BMI doesn't take into account the fat/muscle ratio, so a weightlifter could have a higher BMI than average but be fitter than someone who had an average BMI but had a higher proportion of fat to muscle.
My BMI is just 20 according to this website, but I'd be happy to trade that for 23 and Bolt's physique.

If everyone in the world had the same BMI as you, it would remove 33,787,350 tonnes from the total weight of the world's population

You're most like someone from Uganda*

You're right, that's why it's not that great of a test. The average linebacker would be considered obese by these standards.

yep ,it just sez what your the mass of your body is without discriminating what the mass is made up of.
I don't see any value in it.
I f i drop a few pounds i'd have the same BMI as Bolt. But i am a million miles from being as fit as him.
Its just a number and doesn't have much value unless you add body fat into the equation.
