Look what I found. Just released.
Hot sure if it's me or the video but there may be a couple of sound glitches ... other than that ... if you're in the downer-docu mood, have a look. Serious stuff.
It came from these people:

Choice to follow their dreams, as long as they accept Jesus.

You know, it started off ok. They're a different type of Christian ...
Yeah, for once I didn't here one mention of god/Jesus. The stats on Isaan were interesting.
Frederick Douglass: Find out just what any people will quietly submit to
and you have found out the exact measure of injustice
and wrong which will be imposed upon them, and these
will continue till they are resisted with either
words or blows, or with both.
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn;
“Don’t believe them, don’t fear them, don’t ask
anything of them.”
Very weak argument they've got there trying to equate what's going on with the prostitutes in Pattaya with sex trafficking and slavery.
Some inaccurate or exaggerated "facts" presented as well. They say the girl will only make $25 U.S. a night, yeah, if she's ugly. But $25 a night is better than $8 for 8 hours of hard labor. They also present the bar fine as if that's all that's paid.
I'm not sure that the 1/10th of the land in Isaan being usable for agriculture is accurate, that seems low when as far as I drive all I see is agriculture.

From another site, also with a Christian bent:
Again, no source was quoted.roughly a third of the land area is considered unsuitable for cultivation.
So, somewhere between 10% and 66.6% of Isaan is arable land, according to these Christian experts.
The girls are not enslaved by anything other than poverty, and they're working their way out of it, which is the only way. Leave them be.
I sleep in the daytime, I
Work in the night time, I
Might not ever get home
I am no apologist for Pattaya, it is a steaming turd of a cesspit of vice and filth, but the 'facts' in the video are just Christian morality gone haywire. At one point they claim that the working girls become prostitutes because there are no jobs. That is, for the large part, just bollox. Most girls (I would add the all to familiar 'I know' there, but, unlike that chap on this forum whose name escapes me at present, I don't know many) do it becuase the money is better than working a 12 hour shift in a factory in Nakon Nowhere. It is that simple. There are jobs aplenty out there, it is just that some ladeez (and boyz) choose the sex route because it is better cash. Simple, no?
Also, they might snare a rich farang. Also, they have fun with their friends. Also, they get to stay up all night drinking on the customer's tab. Also, they get to sleep all day. They do it while they're young enough and then become shopkeepers and such.
The alternative is this:
---Update---
Or this:

"the majority of the land is owned and manipulated by the rich"
But it isn't used for agriculture. How are they manipulating empty, unused land?![]()
...it can be used as collateral for bank loans, bail guarantees, etc...
...it can be resold to the government at outrageously inflated prices once new developments are announced...
...it can be used for clandestine activities that must avoid the light of day...
the sheer ignorance of this propaganda astounds menothing is cited, just random statements of "fact" based on apparently what some white people who dont speak thai could gather while spending a couple days in pattaya.
prostitution is certainly bad, but this "life skills" approach where some over-the-hill women learn to make 8000 thb/month and sit on their asses all day is completely out of touch with reality. ya, thats really going to attract some young piece of ass whos having a ball making 60k/month while spending 2 out of every 4 weeks on the beach on trips
go do some actual research, global conquerors.
No, it's money for a service. You've been told it's bad by the same people who told you that birth control is bad, celibacy is good, and murder is essential to spread the message of God.
Just for fun, they also preach the Bible which is full of this stuff:
