So, the end justifies the means just because most of the world perceives them as 'good'?

They prostitute themselves mercilessly, intentionally and without remorse. They prostitute themselves more than Blair has ever done. Now, do I find Blair a terrible human? Yes, of course I do, but at least he doesn't get up to the antics of this pair of clowns who probably do more damage to their causes than good with their media profiles. The Dalai Lama is every bit as bad as Tutu. As human beings they may be decent folks, as activists for their causes, they are failures.

i'm sure you would have a big steaming plate of poopoo for jebus himself should he take on some moral crusade. please provide us with evidence of this merciless intentional remorseless prostitution which enrages you so.

perhaps they haven't reached the lofty moral peak you reside on, but for most of us this is as good as humanity gets.

More than likely it's a common'r'garden case of moral/ethical idiocy, "equivalence" variety.

A: "He kills and lies and perverts justice and undermines democracy".

B: "Yeah, maybe, but he's not a clown! Being a clown is way worster!"

    (Guess what's coming next!)

I dare say they haven't, but that shouldn't stop them from trying...

Really 3lk, there are no facts here, just opinion. I take their media profiles and interpret them one way, you take the profiles and interpret them another.

As for MR, have you ever chipped in on a discussion with me and NOT become personal straight away? Really, you seem to have a thing for me, darlin'. Shall we get a room?

This is the exact mentality that I object to. Their cause is good, the US war machine has deemed it thus, therefore (with faulty logic) they, and everything they stand for, are good. Again, yes, as human beings they are good folks (and their causes (most) are certainly good), but they fail their causes by their blatant prostitution - now, I do think that Blair made some bad decisions, his decisions killed a great deal of innocent people, but he is a conviction politician. Do I think these two clowns are conviction politicians? No, I don't. I think they would say anything to stay in the public eye. That, imho, is why these Hollywood celebrity types prostitute their cause at every opportunity. I ain't saying they don't believe, however, I am saying that the trappings of celebrity have taken over and they have become focused on that, which distracts from the cause. Tis all I am saying.

I'm with THX. My respect for Tutu has just gone up several notches.

Blair has no convictions whatever apart from self-serving ones. How could you miss that?

    You're my hero! Thanks.

It boggles the mind the way things get spun; it's a true expression of Sophistry; minus any genuine critical thinking skills.
As I said elsewhere; entrenched ignorance is a tonic to the ignorant.

Go Des! 600 000 dead Iraqis probably support you from beyond the grave. Illegal war? Remember that?? Despite the long since uncovered lies, the deceit and corruption, the intensifying violence of the state, the broken lives, shattered families, splintered society, breakdown of law and order, looting and collapse of the economy there remains a small body of loyalists who cover their eyes, block off their ears, hold their noses and speak sweetly and softly of the warmonger, the serial bomber, the self-obsessed man monster who is Tony Blair. Tutu for prez.
