    Asian myths

I was talking with this guy this morning and I mentioned that I lived in Thailand for a long time. He said, "wow, really?" Followed by (verbatim):

"My father saw a Chinaman sell his two daughters to a foreigner for a pack of cigarettes. Did you see anything like that?"

He's about 35 years of age, ffs. That's the first thing pops into his head when something Asian is mentioned.

I just looked at him. Thought about embarrassing him in front of everyone but I let it go ...

Those fucking lowly illiterate filthy Asians selling their young children for cigarettes ... and cheap - two girls for one pack! Where can I get a deal like that?

In Korea in the army I used to trade bars of soap for a shag. It was a good exchange tho, they needed my product and I needed theirs. I was a medic and we were sent to areas where there were health problems. We rescued lots of babies abandoned in dumpsters, all girls, odd isn't it? Hunger is a powerful force.

In Vietnam war it was a common practice of heathen VC parents to booby trap their children with explosives. So be careful when offering chocolate bars to gook kids ... they will blow you to smithereens ...

Thai women are home loving, submissive, and will do anything to keep their man happy.

    Apparently.

I used to frequent a hotsprings north of St. Helena.

    Lovely, lovely area.

Why the hell would you want to leave there to live in Thailand?

Something you have in common with Bruce Reynolds.

I doubt you shared the same accommodation though.

There's a few Mexicans here. One of the few good things about this grim place.
