I went to Pattaya to meet some buddies one Saturday afternoon. I went into a bar with a couple of mates and someone tried to pick pocket my wallet. I caught them red-handed and gave them a punch to the nose.
A wild west fight broke out and I was arrested. I spent 2 days and one night in the cells until I agreed to pay *compensation* of B17,000. One of my mates, too.
We only paid because they were waiting until Monday to take us to court. Then it would have been B100,000 bail plus lawyers etc.
This happened around 3pm on a Saturday afternoon. On my second beer.
