I spent a couple of months in Fort Worth one night.
Ft. Worth= boredom.

i rolled into palms springs on the morning of 31 december 1999, looking for america as it were. before lunchtime rolled around i rolled outta there for ell ay.
On December 31st 1999 I was in Byron Bay - Australia. Definitely NOT a boring town. Time of my life.
So let me get this straight. People are lining up down the street to get into bars all across the city ... but no one is taking advantage of the fact and opening up new bars.

About all those desert cities are boring. Too many blue heads. The one desert place I like is Santa Fe NM. There really isn't much for me between the coasts. NO is cool, don't know much about Chicago, Mini/St Paul, land of Prince, is prolly okay. The rest is farmland, gun-totin rednecks, Bible Belters, hicks of various types, people like Russ .. even fatter.
Montreal in 2 minutes.... very cheezy, but
i very like NO but i had been there 3 times already and wanted something new. i had a bias against LA thanks to it's pubic image. it was much nicer and shit than i had ever imagined. then i went up to SF which was very lame and i will never go back. everyone thinks they're it in SF, i didn't get that vibe in LA.
And once again the cluelessness... Vancouver is uniquely cold and unfriendly among Canadian cities. The liquor licensing laws make nightlife difficult to create. And the "arts scene", aside from a great film festival and even better jazz festival and a first-rate free jazz scene, is boring.
So people who define their pleasures through venues for alcoholic consumption and live "pop" in its various manifestations are never going to like Vancouver.
If you rock-climb, enjoy mountains, skiing, rollerblading, running in gorgeous settings and lighting up a spliff before heading off to hear some free improv jazz of an evening, it can be heaven. The locals, however, are a distinctly cold and boring group in general.
From what I understand they do have lots of hookers in Vancouver...some dim-witted pig farmer named Robert Pickton was picking them up in his pick-up truck for years, driving them out to his farm and feeding them to his pigs.
Moral of the story, you have to make your own fun in Vancouver.
The most boring city on the planet?....That's easy...Savannakhet, Laos....What's there to do?.....Well...there's a shit-hole of a 'market' where they sell some overpriced stuff...Then there's Odop...the pointless equivalent of the Thai Otop....equally as dull......and to round the day off...you can stare at the Mekong for a couple of hours...We ended up playing 'Spot the lard-ass'....again...pointless...couldn't see any...pretty fit them Laotians...So....yea...to sum up...![]()
