A cop working in such a crime-ridden city with extended shifts at half the rate of pay would push for a raise? What nerve! They have nothing to complain about. They should have saved enough money to buy an Airstream and sail off into the sunset, right?

I'm not blaming them for pushing for more pay--just pointing out that that's what is motivating this poster, not necessarily the actual situation on the ground.
Of course, Detroit cops should be paid. A lot. As should the firefighters--hardest place in the world to be a fireman, at least going by one documentary I saw.
