Didnt really stay around to find out. Family were fine with it, thought it would be a great experience and I had grown bored of the "friends" I had before I left. Most were dim witted morons destined to a life with 2.4 kids and debt. Left and never spoke to any of them again. I actually met an old school "friend" the other day and I was right. What a boring pleb, still drinking in the same damn pub I left 7+ years ago. No interest in speaking to, or tracking down any of them.

^Hollow, that really is one of the saddest things I have read on AF, I can't exactly put my finger on it, but it made me sad to read that. I think your past is as important as your future, there must be someone who is worth looking up from your past? Surely it isn't only because they chose a different path that you feel this way?

I'm doing the exact opposite. I'm going to marry her next year in America and then we will get married in Thailand in a few years. I'm a teacher in America, but it's at a rough school so it's not that fun.
