How do female farangs find dates?

Hello,

I moved to Bangkok in September and started teaching at a university last month. So far I love living here, but there's one area that's starting to concern me. What do female farangs do about dating? It seems most western males want to date Thai women, and who can blame them, but western women don't have the same opportunities with Thai men or otherwise. It's starting to look like a long year ahead. What's a gal to do?

There always celibacy!

Take a Thai language course. That may help with one of the biggest barriers between you and meeting a Thai guy--the language.

You may have to be a little more aggressive as most Thai guys, unless they know English and are up for farang girls, probably won't approach you. They tend to stick with what is most familiar (and easier to cheat on): Thai women.

You need to hang out in the upper scale places where the white guys don't like asian chicks.
Even if you're not in perfect shape (or age) you'll find someone who's looking for white meat.
Try lobby lounges of posh hotels or very western bars like any Irish bar, especially in silom.
I've discovered that Irish bars are the hangouts for the 'not-into-thai' crowd!

and I seem to have noticed that Thai guys go for falang women big time

as for looking for dates - at Christmas my family always used to get them in long boxes with rounded ends and the words 'Eat Me' on the top - you just open the box and there they are, all in neat rows - I used to love 'em as a kid - in Thai they're called 'in tha pha lam' - hope that's helpful

Yeah, well... not all do. If they were raised or educated overseas they can be quite nice. I had dinner with a Thai/American last night. He moved back to Thailand after 27 years in the US and now's the first time he's ever had an Asian girlfriend!

Oh, those same guys that lie to themselves everyday? "Thai girls? I don't like Thai girls. You can't have a conversation with them." Yeah, not everybody wants to listen to some bonehead moaning on and on about his mutual funds, football teams, homeland politics and wine.

One can never be too ugly for an Asian chick. Just walk down Sukhumvit, or better, see the fat Thai/Chinese guy with pimply rashes on his neck, hairs sprouting out of moles, the keys to a new BMW in their Calvin Klein pants, and with the most lovely lady in tow.
