A farang was shot to death a few years back after a traffic dispute. The Thai man who shot him said later "I shot him because I was angry, but I'm not angry now. Sorry."

    Get the point?
Not really as that's a chap that killed someone.

I think Thais are just saying sorry in general (same as a while ago us Brits had to say 'sorry' to the Brazilians).

So what should Thais in general say or do???

    Bit daft that mate!

Actually, one of the murderers said he was sorry mainly because of the damage it caused the Thai tourism industry! The same reason Thaksin, et. al., want them executed.

In my neck of the woods, murderers don't generally apologise, as it's considerd bad taste. My apologies if all the rest of you think it appropriate!

In any case, how many Thai tourists are murdered every year in the UK by UK citizens? And if so should said British murderers say "sorry?"

    Yeah, I didn't think so.

There was a story in The Nation yesterday. Mentioned was that The Kho Samui visiting Britons are fewer by 30% because of the murder. It also said the fisheries are urged to take more care when hiring. I'm sure some shrimp boat caption is going to start doing background checks on unemployed low-life nose-picking, ass-grabbin fisherman. And if 30% is in print, the real figure is probably closer to 70.

The government can't understand why the scare .. after all the guilty were caught and quickly brought to trial. Fuckin joke.

    Hootad,

Personally I think all murderers should say sorry regardless of nationality! Impolite murderers should be killed twice or locked up for two life sentences!

It's good that a man apologized and realized what he did was wrong.

I know a Thai lady who was beat and choke to death by her jealous boyfriend, of course he got away with murder and never once said he was sorry....so mean, so evil.
