Please Read Avatars and Images Rules
Policy on avatars, videos and other images posted on Ajarn Forum.
Ajarn Forum operates a "safe for work" images policy.
This policy is based on our understanding of a key element of our readership, the teacher posting from his workplace computers. We understand that many of you post in the privacy of your homes, but as a forum aligned with Ajarn.com, a teachers portal we consider them our priority in terms of our minimum standards.
Prior to this notice we have operated a fairly liberal policy with regards images and issued fairly general guidance as to what visible parts constituted an unacceptable image, but due to the constant pushing of barriers by a small number of users, we have recently become concerned that this policy is simply not workable anymore, and the forum has become for many, NSFW, not safe for work.
This is obviously of exteme concern for us as a site that enjoys a sizable teacher-at-work readership, and we are concerned that chance viewings of some content posted by users puts people in danger of disciplinary action at schools to the extent that we may no longer be used as widely in schools.
Therefore Ajarn Forum has adopted a "Safe For Work" policy on all avatars and other images posted on this forum. From now on the procedure is as follows. If an avatar is by the judgement of a moderator, NSFW, the moderator will contact that poster, and request that they change it. If it is not changed or changed to a second NSFW image that user will forfeit his right to have an avatar. We will also not tolerate "what about this one? this one? this one?" type posts. If you have to ask, then surely that suggests that there may be something wrong with it. If so re-consider whether you wish to create more work for our moderators.
What is NSFW? Any image or video that could cause offence to an employer in the context of a primary school where 7 year old kids are able to wander in and out of the staffroom and at any point could see an image on computers. In paticular we consider sexualised images of any kind as being NSFW, be they real, cartoons, tatoos, inanimate objects, rude vegetables, and certainly images of students or adults in school uniform, where the intention of posting the image is clearly not academic. Other examples of NSFW may be violent/gory images, or bodily functions.
If an image on a post is NSFW, the image or even post wil be deleted. If any threads are started that encourage or later become post-fests of NSFW images, all posts will be removed and the thread deleted or locked.
Moderators have the final say on what is NSFW, if asked to remove your avatar please do so immediately and without further protest. It is entirely possible that we don't catch everyone and we may miss notable exceptions. If you wish to draw attention to them, please do so by posting the URL of the posters profile, or by reporting the post in the usual manner.
Moderators will endeavour to apply this rule as consistently as possible, some borderline cases may be overlooked while some may not....that's just life and we certainly won't be doing so out of any kind of personal favouritism.

I like ajarn.com. It is a fun place. I was going to get out my list of great grievances, grandiose gripes, grand groans, grave grumbles and my granduer of grating grim grisly grime, but I won't, because I can't stop growing with the gruesome gritty grubby and grotesque grin.
