Tourist Visa combos

Hey guys,

Thanks for the useful information. My first tourist visa is up on Oct. 27th and I want to get the most for my money, so I thought I'd run my plan by you.

I flew in from Taiwan (lots of cash over there, but the downside is that you have to live in Taiwan to earn it). I have a Tourist Visa issued form their Teco office, and a return ticket that I can use to get back there.

I think the best plan for me would be to extend my tourist visa by one month, then use my ticket to fly to Taiwan to get another Tourist visa. By the time the second visa has been used up, my probation period will be up, and my job will pay for my Non-Imm B visa and work permit. it would also give me time to make sure I really want to spend the next year working at this job, before going through all that paperwork.

So I guess my question for you is, have most people been able to get back to back tourist visas with no problem? Also if I extend my tourist visa can I still get another one at an embassy (probably Taiwan again)?

Also if I do border runs to get the 3X30, can I then go and get a tourist visa again?

thanks for your advice.

Re: Tourist Visa combos

Yes, back to back tourist Visas seem okay....although you don't actually need to do it you can get by on the 3 x 30 day stamps and convert (with your employers help) if need be.

Not sure Taiwan is a back to back place though...might be worth asking them when you get your first one? Some places are easier than others!

Re: Tourist Visa combos

I'm not sure if Taiwan will do back to back, but I already have airfare paid. Maybe I'll make things simpler and do a closer trip. I'm only going to need one more visa anyway.

kenkannif, is Taiwan a good alternative to obtain Non "B" or Tourist Visas? Any reports?

Re: Tourist Visa combos

I don't think so....nowhere in Asia is 'good' anymore! A single tourist would probably be fine though (but if you're flying there PM me as there's 'good' places not much further away).
