Non Imm B Visa - Single or Multi Entry?
Hi,
Any help here will be much appreciated. I'm a bit confused about whether to apply for a multi-entry non immigrant B visa or a single entry. I am applying for the visa in the UK so should have little problem being granted either. The multi-entry is £100 and the single entry just £45. My school have told me to get the single entry so all sounds good. However, does this mean if I leave Thailand for a holiday during my year contract my visa is invalid on my return...or can I convert my single entry visa to a mulitple-entry visa as/when needed? Sorry if I'm being stupid here or if this has been asked before.
Thanks to anyone who can help,
Cheers

You can get yourself a re-entry permit before you leave Thailand, so as long as you remember your non b will still be valid.

Re: Non Imm B Visa - Single or Multi Entry?
Cheers for that! OK - so even if I come back to Thailand on a non-immigrant B single entry (£45 as opposed to the £100 multi-entry) I can simply apply for a re-entry permit if I ever need/wish to leave the country while wanting to keep my visa valid? That sounds good. Any idea how much each re-entry permit costs?

Yep yep!
I think it's 1000b for a re entry permit for a single entry, but I'm not 100% sure.

Best place mate is Hull, they're wicked up there, no hassle at all.

But you never know what might happen, like a few months back they stopped all processing of work permits ect while they sorted out things wid the teacher's license stuff. My advice is if you av the money get a multi-entry then you're sorted whatever they case might be.

If you are still on the multi-entry don't matter, but if you get a work permit then a re-entry permit is needed, get it from immigration office in Thailand.

Re: Non Imm B Visa - Single or Multi Entry?
Cheers both of you for that - just read smallprint on application form for Visa (sending it to Hull) that a re-entry permit is 1900baht (about £30) so may just opt for the multi-entry visa for peace of mind. Cheers again!

Re: Non Imm B Visa - Single or Multi Entry?
The bigger questions are, do you think you are going to a) have vacation during your first 90 days in Thailand and if you do b) will you have the desire and finances to travel outside of Thailand? If you answer "yes" to either of those then get the multi-. If the answer is "no" save your money, you can get a re-entry here (1,900 seems high - did it just go up? Before it was 1,000baht for a single and 3,800 for a multiple re-entry).

Re: Non Imm B Visa - Single or Multi Entry?
I don't think you can get the re-entry doodah from Hull mate....so don't even try (no point anyway as it's tied to your extension/renewal date).
Get a multiple just to be on the safe side would be my advice!!! Also gives you more 'freedom' and options in the long run.

Yes absolutely. Many of us have to learn this one the hard way. Put out the extra dosh. It is money very well spent. Gives you a lot more piece of mind in terms of the school sorting out your work permit in a timely fashion.
Multiple entry...thumbs up.

Re: Non Imm B Visa - Single or Multi Entry?
Yup Ken.
You've arrived back just in time. You're going to be a busy boy over the next month or so methinks. Always appreciated though. Still think you should write and flog a manual even though the laws and regulations continue to change on a weekly basis. Cheers mate.
