Hi everyone, I just received this information from the agency that I have decided to work and this is the response I got regarding a question I had about my visa. If anyone has any feedback on this information I would
greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

-if you do not receive you Non Immigrant B before you leave, you can get a tourist visa upon arrival at the airport in Thailand
-if this is the case, Media Kids will organize a trip to Laos for everyone in the same position, and there you will receive your Non Immigrant B visa. You will be accompanied by a Media Kids representative. However, this trip costs 6000B which includes: transportation, hotel, Laos visa, Non Immigrant B visa [not food]. This is a very reasonable price. I did this last semester. After a few days spent in Laos, from Nong Khai [the city on the Thai side of Laos] you will be sent to your schools.
-if you DO receive your papers, take them to the Thai consulate in Calgary [I assume for you it would be Calgary]. You can receive your visa in 1-3 days [depending on how much you want to pay].
That's it!
^ That's about right...ish!
How many entries are they asking for from Calgary? It's best to get it there as they don't do multiples in Laos.
And to be honest 6K is a bit steep!
And no you can't get a tourist Visa on arrival, that's a 30 day stamp in or on arrival Visa....not a tourist at all.
Riddle me this brother can you handle it

probably best to do everything you can to get the B before you leave.

Yeah won't get a multiple in Laos, but then if they're getting you a WP right away, not the end of the world.
Lulu (saw you on TotP the other night) if you answer my questions I can answer more specifically.
Sorry Ken, I'm not sure what does it mean by how many entries? I know that the organization I'm working for is working on a Non-Imm B (it looks like I'll have it before I leave.
What is TotP??
Hi Lullu
Are you of the Danan variety? If so, forward me a post or email. Either way, a new form recently required by the consulate in Penang is the WP (something)?? They apparently rejected all app's on the day my friend was there who didn't have it. none did. anywho, check out all current doc requirements. good luck.
Rob
WP3 mate and it doesn't apply to Canada (only Penang at the moment and other 'stricter' Consulates/Embassies) and Mediakids send their lot to Laos so a moot point.
Lulu,
How many entries for the Non-imm B (you can get a single entry which gives you 90 days, a double that will give you two lots of 90 days (a borber run inbetween).
Top of the Pops....Lulu presented a show the other night.....now let me hear you SHOUT!
They are working on a Non Imm B?Originally Posted by lulu

Contact your local Thai embassy / consulate and find out what they need. Then tell Media kids what they HAVE to send you BEFORE you leave. By the way, when do you leave?
All visas say how many entries ( to thailand ) you are allowed before the visa is used.
ie a single entry Non Imm B means you can come into thailand once for 90 days and then have to apply for an extension at immigration as you are getting a work permit or leave thailand to apply for a NEW visa.
a multiple entry visa means you can come into thailand as many times as you like during the visas validity for a maximum of 90 days. At the end of the 90 days you have the option to apply for an extension as you are getting a work permit or leave thailand to re-enter the country for another 90 days - commonly known as a visa run.
( the validity is the date the embassy write on the visa - normally it will say something like valid until 21/09/06 )

If you dont already know, Lulu is a Scottish singer of some reknown. TOTP is Top Of The Pops a music chart show.
ah bugger ken, you just beat me to it.![]()
I'm pretty sure she means they're working on sending her a letter mate. Seems to be MK's MO!
Calgary is pretty cool and they should do you a multi with minimal paperworkBest to get that IMO!
Yes, they said I should have it emailed to me next week. I'm flying out (from Toronto, not Calgary) October 10th. I'm calling the cosulate tomorrow.Do you mean they are still trying to get their paperwork sorted out to send to you?
Thank you so much everyone, I truly appreciate the information I am receiving here.
An e-mailed letter IMO might not work. Although saying that a lot of them accept faxes, so if it's on headed paper it might work. I'd still go for a hard copy personally.
Err you mentioned Calgary in your initial post so I assumed you'd be applying there (at least that's what you said initially). If not give me old mate William a bell at the Toronto/Ontario Consulate, he's a good chap (PM if you don't have the details).

Also check with Toronto as they have funny opening days and times from what I can gather.
