I think it's really annoying how you need to have a certain post count to send a certain number of private messages. I'm sure there's a logical reason behind it (likely spam control or ensure users contribute to the forum) but I think it might be a good idea to relax the limits a little bit as right now all it's doing is making me add semi-useful replies to existing threads.
Not that I don't want to contribute... but sometimes when you want to send a message, you just want to send a message.
Hey look... I'm one post closer![]()
Keep going mate...just 8 to go. We've been having spam problems just lately so it's a necessary evil, plus it gets you posting....if you need to get hold of someone urgently just give me a PM (mods and admin are exempt) and I can pass a message on to contact you.

I think it was ryanuk who cleverly found a barren thread and just posted the numbers one thru ten in consecutive posts. There. He hit 30. Go ahead and do it here. Sorted. One thru seven....
Just
go on....
Pile 'em on up!
Of course it'll take you several minutes as you have to wait.

Ahh....that's interesting, if I post as admin it doesn't show the posts up as merged, but if you login as a regular member it zips the threads together..cool
So lets have a second post test.
Ahh, now what seems to happen is that it looks like a double post until the page is refreshed then it merges it, and it seems to cancel out the post count too.....excellent!
4th test post - so it seems that posting as Admin has nothing to do with what I see....splendid...oh don't mind me I'm just wittering on at myself....

Does this mean everyone's double posts will be get merged?
Try it out.
...Or does it not mean that.
Hey! So will this post be merged with that one right there?
...I see! something about "automerged doublepost" sounds sexy!

yup
So, no more naughty post count bumping, at least not on the same threads anyway. Actually there will probably be a few people very happy about thsi featire...Unwell was moaning about the lack of this the otter day.
It doesn't merge it properly straight away but refresh the page and you'll see it's worked...
