Anyone an expert on Front Page?

Anyone here an expert on using FrontPage, more specifically the uploading of? I've made a website and am having problems uploading it. Host company is Bravenet (www.bravenet.com (http://www.bravenet.com/)) and I have the premium package which includes FrontPage extensions. It's showing that all files have been uploaded yet the homepage states that the files have not been uploaded. Help!

do you have a page called index.htm, index.html, home.htm, or home.html? If not, that might be the problem

Yes, all pages are there. That was the first thing I checked. Thanks anyway

Have you tried ftp-ing your site to see for yourself that the files are there? What's the name of the homepage, then I'll check it out?

just a thought ... Don't Forget To Activate Your FrontPage Extensions Ok, you've purchased a web hosting account from a provider that listed "FrontPage Extensions" as one of their account features. You're ready to get started and you try to upload your site. The username and password are correct, but it just won't work! This situation causes many people to cancel their hosting accounts and quickly ask for their refund. The truth is many account owners don't read their hosting provider's initial instructions concerning activating FrontPage extensions. This information can easily be found in your "Welcome Email" or in the web hosting provider's support FAQs pages. Activating FrontPage extensions takes just a few clicks and a short wait. Typically, they are activated simply by logging into your account's control panel and turning them on. Some providers require you to email them so that one of their web server technicians can do it (don't ask me why). In either case, you will need to wait some period of time after activation to allow the web server to update, usually an hour or so. Remembering this step will save you much delay and frustration when first setting up your FrontPage website.

Discus .. the homepage is www.xxxxxxxxx.com (http://www.xxxxxxxxx.com/) but there's nothing there, just a message from the hosts saying that files have yet to be uploaded. Harry .. FP extensions have been activated. The problems that I've had have been publishing directly from FP and using FTP. Firstly, publishing from FP seems to work for hours while the files are uploading and always, about 3/4 the way through it 'times out'! I've also tried using FTP and it keeps coming up with connection error so I'm basically stuck. I've checked and double checked proxy names, FTP server names, user names and passwords. I'll try again and if no success ... this machine's going out the damn window. Just checked through the files again and it seems that I have 2 index files. One is .html and looks like it contains the homepage etc and the other is a .htm file that contains diddlydoo. Would it be ok to delete that file?

nope, rename the index.htm to index.html and see what happens (make a backup of index.html first, like index.old)

That's a catchy school name you've got there Geordie! I presume you know already, but your images on the indax page need sorting out. Have you uploaded them? It sounds daft, but that is probably the most common mistake people make. Even I do it!!!! If they are uploaded, you need to check your extensions out. Good luck with your site.

Looks fine to me John. Is that your little office in the main picture of you? Where's the beer man?

Clickking on "Local Info", "KNEP Staff", "KNEP Students", "KNEP Camps", "The Fun Box", and "Upcoming Events" gets me another menu bar below the first one, but the same as the first one. Only "Home", "The School", "KNEP Links", and "Contact Us" are not producing the extra menu bar. Otherwise, looks fine and functional :smile:
