Hoping someone can clarify the cost involved in the multi b when applying from the US. I followed a link to thaiembdc. $50 single entry 90 day visa, easy enough to understand. $125 per multiple entries(letter of invitation required). The way this reads a 15 month visa would cost $625.00. Or is the cost of a multi $125.00 and then you pay whatever appropriate fee for another 90 day extension during a border run? Hopefully the latter would be correct, as each 90 day extension must cost a hell of alot less than $125.00 each.

It only costs $125 USD....and then 'free' to activate over the 12 months of activation (other than what it costs to get you to the border and possibly the cost of the Visa for say Cambodia (generally costs 2K there and back with Cambodian Visa if you go from Bangers)....but Malaysia for example you generally don't need a Visa for so other than getting there and coming back it would work out free).

The officer tried to ask if the visa was paid for me and my friend! I think he was angling for some cash.... Lucky the non-b visas have a big stamp that says PAID!
they make this difficult on purpose.
im planning on going there sans job. i think id like to have the option of being there for a bit until i do a border run. im assumin its best to get a non-im B before i leave, regardless.
best way to go? or show up and do a border run or three (the new max right?)
^ It's quite easy to activate to be honest.

I would get the non-B multiple if I were you, unless your coming here for a holiday

Haven't been on board long enough to pm you "k". I've been communicating with a couple schools trying to negociate terms. One will offer the golden letter only if I sign up for their "guaranteed job and WP" option, which costs nearly 3 times more than just their certificate course of $699. Another used verbage "if we like you" add 2000 baht to course price to cover cost of app' and postage. The latter seemed pretty reasonable, it was the "if we like you" part that ground against the bone.
I'm hesitent to mention the 2 specific course providers as I don't want to cause any conflict with board policies.
I do intend to stay in Thailand as many years as possible. I will be seeking teaching positions in Issan or the south, I've had my share of big city life.
